Giorgio Cùscito, multi-instrumentalist and leading figure in traditional Italian jazz, is a long-time friend of Salento Swing People and was the first international guest to perform at one of our vintage parties. His presence marked the beginning of a meaningful collaboration that has enriched our swing dance community with his talent, charisma, and passion for swing music.

Nicknamed “The Ambassador of Swing in Rome,” Giorgio is one of the most renowned musicians on the European swing scene. Master of the saxophone, clarinet, and piano, he is also deeply rooted in vintage culture, making him a key reference for lovers of lindy hop, balboa, solo jazz, and charleston. He has been leading the Swing Valley Band for years, performing at top international festivals—including our own Salento Swing Festival, where he brought irresistible rhythm and vintage style to the dance floor.

His performances, the result of refined musical and stylistic research, celebrate the Golden Age of swing and the vibrant energy of jazz improvisation. Each show is a journey into the history of lindy hop, lighting up the dance floor and uniting dancers and musicians in a shared joyful experience.

Collaborating with Giorgio has elevated the artistic quality of our vintage-themed events in Salento, strengthening the bond between swing music and partner dancing. A unique fusion of rhythm, elegance, and passion that brings the heart of swing to the heart of Southern Italy.
