Hyunjung Choi is an internationally renowned swing dancer, instructor, and choreographer, known for blending the grace of Korean traditional dance with the infectious energy of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz. After graduating in traditional Korean dance and exploring various styles such as ballroom dance and ballet, she discovered swing dancing in 2005 and instantly fell in love with it. Since 2006, she has been teaching Lindy Hop across Korea, bringing fresh ideas to the dance floor and playing a key role in growing the local swing scene.Her career boasts impressive international achievements, including 1st place at the prestigious Hellzapoppin Contest – Frankie 100, which brought her global recognition. She also won 1st place at the Camp Hollywood Open Strictly (2012) and placed 2nd in the All-Star Strictly at the International Lindy Hop Championships (2013).
Hyunjung leads the performance team Night and Day, continuing to share her passion by teaching and performing at swing events and festivals all over the world. Her dancing is a unique mix of refined technique, creativity, and joy, radiating positive energy that captivates every audience.
When she visited Salento, Hyunjung left a lasting impression with her elegance, charisma, and distinctive style. The weekend workshop was a whirlwind of swing rhythm, Lindy Hop footwork, Solo Jazz improvisation, and an atmosphere steeped in 1920s–30s–40s vintage culture.
